Cassandra Clare - The Mortal Instruments series

This series begins with the book City of Bones, this book universe of Clare has changed completely, there are not only human on earth , and the world is more dangerous than it seems. In New York, City that never sleeps, a young woman named Clare sees something he shouldn't, people she could not have seen, things that should not exist and a kind of accidentally discovers that her world has really changed, or is hers perception of the world is what has changed?

Currently I'm reading the second book in the series known as City of Ashes, is a trilogy and the third book is called City of Glass, I considered that so far has been very interesting to read these books by Cassandra Clare managed to keep me interested by bringing a dash of adventure to the world of the supernatural.

Nas ruas de Cadwell em Nova Iorque se mantêm uma sangrenta luta entre duas turmas, duas raças: A Irmandade e seus caçadores e assassinos.

Rhage é o melhor guerreiro do grupo; além disso, é o mais atraente, mas tem um lado escuro e violento. Zsadist foi torturado e escravizado; uma cicatriz lhe cruza o rosto, usa o cabelo praticamente raspado e vários piercings em seu corpo, e o resto da Irmandade teme que esteja próximo à perda de sua alma. Phury é seu gêmeo, usa uma prótese em uma perna, cabelo multicolorido e, por decisão própria, se mantém celibatário. Vishous é o especialista em tecnologia e usa cavanhaque, uma boina vermelha e uma luva que oculta sua mão esquerda… e, por último, está Tohrment.

Warth é o rei dos vampiros; é o único de toda a irmandade que é um vampiro “puro”, nascido de pai e mãe vampiros. É praticamente cego, o que o faz ocultar permanentemente seus olhos com uns óculos escuros. Como todos, veste-se de couro e é imponente, enorme; uma massa de músculos e tendões duramente treinados para a luta. É o líder da Irmandade e, além disso, o rei dos vampiros.
Pouco antes de sua morte, Darius, o sétimo vampiro da Irmandade, pede a Warth que cuide de sua filha Beth, meio humana, meio vampira que está a ponto de passar pela transição e converter-se em vampira; mas é um processo perigoso que pode significar sua morte ou a conversão, o que implica uma mudança de vida, estilo e raça: abandonar sua vida humana e passar a viver entre as sombras da noite. Warth se nega, mas depois da morte de seu “irmão” e amigo procura Beth para instruí-la e adverti-la…

A história ocorre na pacata cidade de Bom Temps onde Sookie Stackhouse, uma garçonete que trabalha num bar/restaurante chamado Merllot’s pertencente ao seu chefe e amigo Sam para quem ela trabalha a mais de 5 anos. Tudo parece bom e calmo na cidade de Bom Temps onde a protagonista mora, ela é uma jovem bonita e intrigante com um segredo não muito secreto, ela tem um poder, é uma telepata e consegue ler a mente de todas as pessoas em sua volta até a chegada de Bill que é um vampiro. Sookie não consegue ler a mente dele e começa a se interessar por esse desconhecido vampiro.

A série de livros já está tendo o seu segundo livro em produção para série de televisão a cabo do canal HBO, a série tem o nome da versão engarrafada a vendida aos vampiros de sangue sintético chamada True Blood. Vale a pena ler os livros e dar uma conferida na série.

The Harlequin - Laurell K. Hamilton - Dica de leitura

Lendo atualmente o décimo quinto livro da série Vampire hunter Anita Blake chamado The Harlequin. Na série Anita blake é a protagonista e desde os 21 anos trabalha como ressucitadora, e também auxilia a polícia com seus trabalhos como investigadora de crimes envolvendo eventos sobrenaturais, é considerada perita nessa área investigativa e também é considerada o bicho papão dos vampiros por seu título dado de A Executora. (Além de ser uma ótima investigadora de crimes relacionados a casos sobrenaturais tem por cargo a eliminar o problema, assim que uma ordem de execução é feita).

Anita Blake tem um humor sarcástico e se mantém longe de homens o máximo que pode até que as barreiras de seu coração são cruzadas, seus grandes amores aumentam em quantidade e diversidade ao longo da série. Os personagens masculinos que circulam na vida da protagonista são extremamente diferentes em personalidade, conhecimentos, poder e suas preferências sexuais (sem mais explicações só vai descobrir lendo). A todos que queiram conhecer um pouco mais cliquem no nome do primeiro livro e boa leitura.

O humor é muito bem trabalhado pela autora e as descrições de lugares acontecimentos e pessoas são exelentes, recomendo a todos que tiverem um tempinho a procurarem saber mais sobre essa série de livros a autora é Laurell K. Hamilton o livro inicial da série Anita Blake tem um título no mínimo sedutor Guilty Pleasures (Prazeres malditos).
